50 shades of blue

I like the color blue. 77.356% (guesstimate) of the shirts I own are blue. My jeans are blue. Socks, when I wear them, are blue. My car, take a wild guess….blue. I have no fashion sense, zip, zero, nada. I will never be confused or mistaken for a metro-male. My hair is clipped tight, no product, or better still, no hair for no product. I cut my fingernails with the scissors on my swiss army knife and I shave every other day not because I am going for some “look” but because I hate shaving.

Blue works for me. There are various shades of blue though I don’t really take that into consideration, at the end of the day the color is still just blue. Blue shirts go with the khakis I wear to work, or to church with my gray slacks and wait for it……my blue blazer. But when I wear a blue shirt with my blue jeans my wife’s opening observation is always the same “that’s a lot of blue” and I offer the same response “I like blue” which she offers back, “yes we all know”. Somehow I don’t think she is being complementary with her remarks. Maybe I am just misreading it. I mean seriously who doesn’t love blue?

About ends and beginnings blog

I am a frustrated writer and poet waiting to be discovered. A stand-up philosopher performing on a street corner near you. A Christian with questions but I don’t want to hear your answers. A Buddhist with a bumper sticker on my truck to prove it. A collector of quotes. A grower of lettuce. The Patron Saint of earthworms who name their children after me. A cyclist whose big ass strains the seams of his Lycra bibs. I am American by birth, Southern by the grace of God. My goal in life is to leave an imprint on the lives of the people I love not a footprint on the earth. I am a son, a husband, a father composed of 65%-Oxygen, 18%-Carbon, 10%-Hydrogen, 3%-Nitrogen, 3%-Diet Coke and 1%-Oreo.

My husband loves blue, too. He has blue eyes (to go with the blonde hair). I have black eyes and hair. Hahaha! I don’t like blue. I love red, pink, even green. From high school in Zambia, our school colors were green and gold, next school back in the Philippines had green and gold, too. Then, I went to Uni (College) and we were green and white — while our biggest rival university was blue! We were the Green Archers and we kept shooting at those Blue Eagles. No, I never liked blue… although I wear it sometimes – a blue dress and yellow high heels.
    Fun post! 🙂
