Watching a brand crumble

“My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!” – Donald J. Trump tweet 2-8-17

The New York Times: Melania Trump Inc. Imperiled “The timing of the story was particularly injurious, according to the lawsuit, considering that Mrs. Trump “had the unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as an extremely famous and well-known person, as well as a former professional model and brand spokesperson, and successful businesswoman, to launch a broad-based commercial brand in multiple product categories, each of which could have garnered multimillion-dollar business relationships for a multiyear term during which plaintiff is one of the most photographed women in the world.”

The average Trump deplorable can’t afford his suits, can’t pay the green fees at his golf courses, or stay in one of his hotels. If the truth be told he wouldn’t want one of those rednecks blowing fart bubbles in his pools. Macy’s dropped him, and now Nordstrom, T.J Maxx and Marshalls are dropping his daughter. Melania Trump “as an extremely famous and well-known person” is concerned now, according to a recent lawsuit, that the only outlet for her “brand” will be QVC.

“There’s a targeting of her brand and it’s her name. She’s not directly running the company. It’s still her name on it. There are clearly efforts to undermine that name based on her father’s positions on particular policies that he’s taken. This is a direct attack on his policies and her name. Her because she is being maligned because they have a problem with his policies.” – White House press secretary Sean Spicer

I don’t suspect President Trump will be destitute or broke after holding America hostage for four years but I do believe his brand will be stained, and the gold will be tarnished. There will be people, companies and organizations who will patronage his holdings to gain favor, or maybe an audience with the king. But the people who put him in power will never have the privilege nor the opportunity to experience the TRUMP brand unless he creates a clothing line for Wal-Mart, made in China of course, or he opens a putt-putt golf course in Dollywood.

And to think, the circus has only been in town for the three weeks.

  1. Nan says:

    particularly injurious????

If tRump weren’t our President, none of this would even leave a blip on the radar. Just one more example why this was one of the worst choices America has ever made.

And, BTW, who really gives a sh__ that her products are being dropped?

  2. Those of us who not millionaires and billionaires don’t always make the best choices because we can’t afford the choice or we simply made a bad choice. Regardless we have two choices which enable us to impact the haves. We have both the power of the ballot box and our economic power. Many of us made a bad choice on November 8th. We are now paying for it with some wealthy people going to Washington who have no concern for us. These people are rich because of us. We are now exercising our other choice and they don’t appear to like it. If it a class war, then they started it. We will fight back the best legal way we can.

  5. I always thought
Ivanka was more understanding than her Father. I like her and feel bad for her

  6. I don’t believe in the sins of the father being transferred to the sons (or daughter, in this case). I do believe that what Trump IS doing is illegal & immoral. I certainly hope the BIG lawyers & judges will soon see it that way too!
Sherrie Miranda’s historically based, coming of age, Adventure novel “Secrets & Lies in El Salvador” is about an American girl in war-torn El Salvador:
Her husband made a video for her novel. He wrote the song too: 😉 ❤ 😉
