What, me worry?

What me worry

This is Donald J. Trump’s tweet flurry before and after James Clapper and Sally Yates appeared before the Senate Judiciary subcommittee yesterday:

Nervous Tweet  #1:

“General Flynn was given the highest security clearance by the Obama Administration – but the Fake News seldom likes talking about that.”

Nervous Tweet  #2:

“Ask Sally Yates, under oath, if she knows how classified information got into the newspapers soon after she explained it to W.H. Counsel.”

Nervous Tweet  #3:

“Director Clapper reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows- there is “no evidence” of collusion w/ Russia and Trump.”

Nervous Tweet #4:

“Sally Yates made the fake media extremely unhappy today — she said nothing but old news!”

Nervous Tweet #5:

“The Russia-Trump collusion story is a total hoax, when will this taxpayer funded charade end?”

Nervous Tweet #6:

“Biggest story today between Clapper & Yates is on surveillance. Why doesn’t the media report on this? #FakeNews!”

So what did we learn from this hearing?

  1. Sally Yates is a bad ass, a very smart, cool and composed bad ass.
  2. It seemed as if everyone, with the exception of Donald Trump, knew that Mike Flynn was bad news, a very toxic choice for national security adviser.
  3. Despite our Presidents insistence, there is a story here, a story with a very thick Russian accent.
  4. The Senate did a much better job of not playing partisan patty cake (with the notable exception of Ted Cruz who Sally Yates burned like a cheap piece of meat) than the House subcommittee.

Trump would have been smart keeping Ms. Yates on board but “smart” doesn’t seem to come into play when talking about the choices and decisions our President makes. Exhibit number one-Mike Flynn. Exhibit number two- Travel Ban #1 and #2. Exhibit number three- TrumpCare #1 and #2.

“To state the obvious, you don’t want your national security adviser compromised with the Russians.” – Sally Yates

What were heard from Ms. Yates is the same thing we heard from FBI Director James Comey during the House subcommittee hearings;  “My answer to that question would require me to reveal classified information. And so, I can’t answer that.” Should this make President Trump nervous? The simple answer is yes which is why we were bombard with tweets, his poor and desperate attempt to drive the story line. If Senator Lindsey Graham follows through with his interest in examining Trump’s business dealings for any ties to Russia, and subpoenas his tax records it could get fun……real fun, real fast.

What drives me crazy are the tRump supporters who are eating up every word he tweets. They’re probably getting headaches from nodding their heads so hard as they agree with his every word.

Fake media my ass. I’m so tired of that meaningless phrase, and disgusted by the millions who apparently buy into it.

Don’t get me wrong — I know plenty of reporters are doing a, shall we say, creative job with their assignments. But Trump loves the media. Always has, always will.
