America under distress

Racial Profiling – the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offense.

Former Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio was convicted of defying a court order to stop detaining suspected undocumented immigrants. “Our” President just pardoned him.

Arpaio built a national reputation as a “hard-ass” for the harsh conditions he maintained in his county jail, people died, and for his campaign against undocumented immigrants. The sheriff’s office regularly violated the rights of Latinos, stopping people based on racial profiling, detaining them solely on the suspicion that they were in the country illegally, and turning them over to the immigration authorities.

His tent city, the outdoor jail where inmates wore striped jumpsuits and pink underwear and slept in 70 surplus Korean War tents under the broiling desert sun was a dangerous publicity stunt. Unfortunately the stunt kept getting him elected.

“Our” cowardly, racist, President pardoned Arpaio under the news shelter of Hurricane Harvey. Why? Because he is a spineless pussy without a moral compass. If there was any doubt, in anyone’s mind if “our” President was a bigot and a racist you just got your answer.

Here is what the two Senators of Arizona think of Trumps pardon of Arpaio;

John McCain – @POTUS‘s pardon of Joe Arpaio, who illegally profiled Latinos, undermines his claim for the respect of rule of law.

Jeff Flake – Regarding the Arpaio pardon, I would have preferred that the President honor the judicial process and let it take its course.

The Arizona Republic, the largest newspaper in Arpaio’s home state, denounced the pardon, saying it placed the former sheriff in “the pantheon of those who see institutional racism as something that made America great.”

Let me be very blunt Joe Arpaio, who claimed to be “America’s Toughest Sheriff”, is a showboating, racist, piece of shit. People died in his tent city jail from exposure and ill-treatment. Inmates were served two meatless meals a day and were required to eat while watching the Food Channel in the cafeteria, the only brick-and-mortar building in the compound that Arpaio called the “concentration camp.”

So as the 35%, the Deplorable nation, cheer Trumps decision “our” President is just warming-up his pardon pen and the line for pardons to cover Trumps criminal ass is long and getting longer. America is under distress. America has been hijacked by a thin-skinned, narcissistic, egocentric, insecure, mentally ill man and his small band of merry men and women. What are you going to do? What are we going to do?

“The President just showed the world, and more importantly those who may be considering testifying or providing evidence against him, that if they remain loyal to him, he will remain loyal to them. Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Carter Page, and just about everyone else who may have incriminating evidence related to Mueller’s investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion, just got the signal that if they don’t cooperate with the government, a Presidential pardon seems quite likely. Basically this was Trump’s way of obstructing justice without actually breaking the law.” – Independent Reporter

    other than armed sedition which is never a good idea, the only thing we can do is keep writing letters to our senators and congressmen, keep making phone calls to their offices, keep writing letters to the newspapers and keep marching in the streets. Keep shouting our displeasure and shame for our country until someone in charge can actually find their balls.

  3. Amazing what counts as hard-ass to some people. Apparently, courage consists of making others suffer. Arpaio is a thug with a badge, but a thug just the same.
