Time to pay the piper

“It’s been so long now, But it seems now, that it was only yesterday, Gee, ain’t it funny, how time slips away” – Willie Nelson

After nine months, North Korea, two Hurricanes, and countless legislative failures don’t you think Donald Trump would have other things on his mind than Hillary Clinton? Apparently not;

“Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss. She lost the debates and lost her direction!” & “The “deplorables” came back to haunt Hillary. They expressed their feelings loud and clear. She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!” – Trump tweets 9-13-17

We all know that guy that scored one touchdown or hit one home run in high school and spent the rest of their life replaying, and sadly, retelling the story to anyone that would listen. That ladies and gentlemen is “our” President. The same guy who had a map of his 2016 Electoral College victory framed to hang in the White House and to give to his family, friends and top supporters. Yes, after nine months “our” President continues to replay and retell the story of how he became “King” because, quite honestly, other than charging the American people an exorbitant amount of money most weekends so that he can play golf, in nine months he, we, have nothing else to show for his time in office.

You see “our” President didn’t run to win, that is very apparent based on his lack of preparation and frankly, his continued lack of preparation based on the number of high level positions he has yet to fill in his administration. He did this simply for the exposure, to move his brand and future enterprises (Trump TV) further along. Honestly the last thing he wanted to do was win. He realized the scrutiny he would be under if he did win. All those shady real estate deals, tax returns, bank loans, the Mafia, the Russians.

Ah the Russians. What Robert Mueller, special counsel in charge of the Russia investigation, is uncovering as we speak is the long and checkered past between Trump, Trump Enterprises and the Russian government. There is an old saying in the real estate business about being “Land rich and cash poor” and The Donald has found himself in that situation a number of times over his career. Once the domestic banks decided “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me” and shut the money spigot off to Trump who was he forced to turn too? I guarantee Robert Mueller knows the answer to that question.

As The Week magazine detailed recently; “If Trump was an honest businessman who surrounded himself with only people of integrity and character throughout his career, he wouldn’t have much to worry about. But he has always attracted people whose morals were flexible and whose most profound question was “What’s in it for me?”, whether it was in real estate or as a candidate and now president. And with the special counsel digging around, there are probably a whole lot of Trump associates lying in bed at night worrying about whether they’re going to get caught.”

The Russian investigation, I am sure, has taken many twist and turns over the last few months. I would suspect there are layers upon layers, and characters on top of characters involved that need to be uncovered and explored. And hiding under one big overturned rock are three more rocks sheltering five other rocks. If it seems like it is taking forever, it is, not because, as Trump declares, there is nothing there but because of the sheer mass of crooked shit Mueller as his staff must wade through. As The Eagles declared; “The heat is on, on the street, Inside your head, on every beat, And the beat’s so loud, deep inside,
The pressure’s high, just to stay alive, ‘Cause the heat is on”

  2. Spot on. I believe Mr. Mueller is quietly building an ironclad case against His Orangeness and his whole, dysfunctional kingdom.

    This is information to think on. I wonder if there was no wrong doing did the president try to derail the investigation so many times, including publicly pondering about pardoning everyone involved especially his children. Where there is this much smoke , I say we are looking at a forest fire of criminal wrong doing. Hugs

    After reading the referenced link, I can’t help but feel sorry for Mueller and his gang having to work their way through all the muck (SHIT) the tRumps have deposited over the years.
