The future of America

I was watching the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC as I do most nights at 9 pm and this commercial came on;

This is Tom Steyer. Never heard of him? Me neither. Wikipedia describes Mr. Steyer as an “American hedge fund manager, philanthropist, environmentalist, progressive activist, and fundraiser” but they left one thing out, NOT a fan of “our” President, Donald J. Trump.

According to Forbes Magazine Mr. Steyer is spending “$10 million on a national ad campaign calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment. A one-minute television ad, launched by Steyer last Friday, accuses Trump of raising the likelihood of nuclear war with North Korea, obstructing justice in his termination of former FBI director James Comey, and violating the Constitution by taking money from foreign governments and threatening to shut down press organizations.”

“Our” Presidents reaction this morning on twitter; “Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!”

I love how the Bully-in-chief uses words like “wacky” and “unhinged” to describe someone who opposes him. By all accounts Mr. Steyer appears to be an outstanding human being. He is a smart, self-made billionaire who lives modestly, is devoted to his wife and children and is concerned about the future of America. Basically the polar opposite of our flashy, gold-plated, started with his Daddies money, moron that we call a President.

Here is the petition Mr. Steyer started; NEED TO IMPEACH. Sure, it is just one of thousands that are floating around out there but what makes this one a little different is this, Mr. Steyer freely uses the term “mentally unstable” to describe “our” President, a description I couldn’t agree with more.

In my heart I truly believe Donald J. Trump is mentally ill. I have absolutely no doubt or question about this fact and this concerns me the most. I am terrified that this overgrown infant will decide to go on a nuclear rant and sadly, there simply aren’t enough grown-ups around to stop him. He will push the nuclear bomb button out of spite, because his ego has been stepped on, because he flies by the seat of his pants. That is what “mentally unstable” people do.

Will NEED TO IMPEACH make a differences? No. It might make us feel good to know that there are others out there that share our concerns but ultimately the fate of this country is in the hands of our Republican representatives in the Congress and Senate. If they won’t pull their heads out of their asses and speak-up like lame duck Senators Jeff Flake and Bob Corker have change, let alone impeachment, isn’t possible.

There is a movement afoot by Republicans to derail and defund the Russia collusion investigation. In my mind that is our last line of defense. I encourage each of you to write your representatives advising them that you want this investigation to continue to its conclusion and that special prosecute Robert Muller should have the autonomy to decide what that conclusion is.

I am sorry that I have ended the week with such a negative post but it began with a conversation I had with my daughter last night about the current state of our nation when she asked her Dad “Are we going to be okay?” Yes I answered. I don’t have much confidence in our elected officials I told her but I do have faith in the vast majority of the American people. Do me a favor, prove me right.

“It is now commonly agreed, after many months of COSTLY looking, that there was NO collusion between Russia and Trump. Was collusion with HC!” – Trump tweet 10-27-17

    i call, fax and email every single senator every single day. It isn’t just the ones from my district that I speak to. We, all of us, need to do the same. it takes me 1 and 1/2 hours out of my day. I am pretty darned sure the future of my children is worth that time spent.

    I have written four times to my senator Marco Rubio and all I got back for it was a form letter telling me someone would get back to me…and no one ever does. Hugs
