In a couple of months I will celebrate two years of “blogging”. To date I have written 732 post which have generated over 40,000 views. I write about what is on my mind at that moment and lately those moments have been about the latest stupid thing “our” President has done or said. Honestly if I had written about every stupid thing “our” President has done or said my post count would be double what it is but I have tried to pick my battles with Trump and his Trumpets over the last year and a half.
The other topic I enjoy pursing are the right-wing, conservative “Christians” that seem to be dominating the airwaves and believe it or not, I am sure you will, these are the guys and gals that send me the nastiest emails and comments. I will on occasion let one of the comments slip through and attempt to have a levelheaded conversation/debate with the offended but mostly I just delete them. I have learned in 56 years of living that it is difficult if not impossible to have a sane and rational conversation with someone who is insane and irrational. I already do that every night trying to coax my rat terrier into her kennel.
I bring all this up as a public service announcement that if you, my readers, are interested in challenging my opinions or views please don’t start the conversation off by calling me a dumb-ass, a f*cking p*ssy, a piece-of-shit, or my favorite, telling me to rot in hell faggot lover. I will not respond. You see I don’t think of myself as the smartest guy in the world as our fearless leader does. My views have and I hope will continue to evolve and revolve. If that makes me wishy-washy in your eyes then I am okay with that. In my view there are no gospels, nothing is permanent, and everything changes, everything.
Over the last few weeks I have had one rather pious gentleman take great exception about what I have written about his Lord and Savior Donald J. Trump, and Jesus, but more Trump than Jesus. He has accused me of hiding behind a cloak of anonymity and that if I had real balls, they are real I got the kids to prove it, I would write under my real name. In his mind I can’t and won’t be taken seriously unless and until I “own” my views by providing my name, address, social security number and blood type. That’s not going to happen.
So my advice to Mr. Pious, Mr. Evangelical, Mr. Deplorable, and Mr. Homophobic is this, there are 74,652,825 blogs floating around this universe and out of those 74,652,825 there are probably one or two that would LOVE for you to click the follow button and rant and rave all you want. Me, I don’t need you better yet I don’t want you. Until you can be civil I will keep deleting your comments and your emails. I truly do want to understand your side, your views and why you think like you do. At some point we need to start the healing process with or without Trump but starting your comment with “Dear Dickhead” is not the way to begin a conversation.
