So what did we learn last night from Ms. Stormy Daniels? She had sex with Trump, yuck. That she felt threatened and coerced and there was probably some campaign finance tomfoolery involved that someone needs to answer for. What will Republicans, Evangelicals and Deplorables do about it? Nothing, absolutely nothing because, according to their President, it never happened; “So much Fake News. Never been more voluminous or more inaccurate. But through it all, our country is doing great!”
The key to Mr. Shah’s comments today on behalf of Trump is this, he doesn’t acknowledge any of the claims. Zero, zilch, zip, nada. I mean, what else is he going to say? It was the best three and a half minutes of sex the President ever had.
So basically what we got, what we have always had with Trump is who are you going to believe, me, the great and powerful Donald or 19 to 25, depending on the day, women who are you know, not the great and powerful Donald. They are just women.
Now, I understand how the Evangelicals and Deplorables can “Stand by your man” in the immortal words of Tammy Wynette. I mean at this point look at all the other bullshit they have accepted as the “gospel” from The Donald. To date he has been the King of over promise and under deliver and the Evangelicals and Deplorables have bought it all, and keep buying it. How hard would it be to believe that he didn’t have sex with a Porn star or a Playboy Bunny? He says he didn’t. Everyone else, all 19 to 25 are a lying. It’s all Fake News, Deep State, and Hillary’s fault. MAGA!
Truly this is a circus, a sad, one-act carnival with a mangy dog jumping through a hoop held by an orange clown. Trump is in survival mode. Save his own ass mode. Take as many down with him as he can mode. Create as much chaos as possible mode. What I am afraid of is that he is also in drop the big bomb to change the headline mode as well. All of the grown-ups have left the room. What we have left is a 71-year-old watching too much television all alone. Welcome to our circus.

If the Orange One calls THIS “Fake News,” does that give anyone a hint on the truth behind all the “other” Fake News?

My point exactly. By all indications, this is anything BUT “Fake News” — which would indicate all of his other “Fake News” proclamations are no more credible than this one. But you knew that already. 🙂

I’ve been wondering, and getting asked, the same thing. All I can figure is that the economy is still humming along, unemployment is low, and folks are seeing a bit more green left in their paychecks right now because of the tax cut. The long-range implications are slipping from view.
Even so, 42% only matches his all-time high, and that’s still pretty damn low…

But that “bit more green” will be offset by rising prices at Wal-Mart, lower prices for soybeans and corn when China quits buying it from American farmers. Steeper prices for anything that uses steel (cars) or aluminum (beer). It’s a shortsighted circus. Trump, like the Deplorables can’t see beyond their noses.

Agreed. I think we’ll see that “all-time high” slip off, in short order. I honestly believed, when all this started, that he’d slip below the 1/3 point by the end of his first year, but I see now that he’s destined to stay in the 36-42 range unless (a) a great wave of enlightenment rolls across the land, or (b) he drops that bomb somewhere.
I’m still putting my money on (a).
In all fairness, I’ve also been putting my money on the Rams for the last 30 years. Hopefully, my gut feeling about this one is better. 😉

Given that Gen. Mattis is the only grown-up left my gut tells me B. Trump wants to be the war President. It suits his ego and little boy need for power. He certainly doesn’t stand a chance in hell at being the intellectual President. Truly his IQ is one step above a rock but less than moss.
