O, what a tangled web we weave….

“O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!” – Walter Scott

So what did we learn today? Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen, the guy who paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to protect The Donald out of the sheer goodness of his heart is the same guy whose fingerprints are all over the $150,000 payment to Playboy Bunny Karen McDougal on behalf of Trump. And Cohen is the same guy who helped former GOP fundraiser and Trump’s billionaire buddy Elliot Broidy pay $1.6 million to another Playboy Bunny who Broidy got pregnant and who later had an abortion (conservative family values?) and he also represents, wait for it, wait for it, Fox News host Sean Hannity. Isn’t this fun?

Sources in the know state that Trump is much more concerned about what could be discovered during the Michael Cohen investigation than what special counsel Robert Mueller might dig-up. This concern is obvious given that Trump and his attorneys have wiggled their way into the Cohen proceedings and have even filed motions for the courts consideration. What is Trump worried about? God only knows but as I noted in a previous post I bet whatever it is there will be a Russian smell to it.

What I find interesting about the Cohen investigation is this, it must be some very serious shit for law enforcement to stick their necks out this far. Think about it, the Deputy Attorney General, a Federal Judge and the FBI, all Republicans and all Trump appointees, raided the personal attorney of the President of the United States. Let that sink in for a moment. Deep state my butt. These were all men, with Trumps seal of approval, who had to sign off and agree to go after Trumps personal “fixer”. Pretty chilling if you ask me.

So I was sitting here thinking, what could be on Trumps mind at this moment;

  1. Robert Mueller
  2. Russians
  3. Pee pee tapes
  4. Collusion charges
  5. Obstruction of justice charges
  6. Impeachment
  7. Certainly James Comey based on the two dozen tweets he has churned out over the last three or four days.
  8. Michael Cohen
  9. More sexual-assault allegations
  10. Maybe even his marriage

With all this happening does he even have time to be the President of the United States? Basically what we got right now is Trumps lawyers versus a Trump Justice Department which makes Watergate look like a misdemeanor. Honestly, in my very humble opinion, this guys legacy is beyond repair. What could he possibly do in two years to reverse the toilet bowl that is his presidency to date? Unfortunately most of his “options” to save his name and reputation I think include dropping bombs on someone else and we all know how much he enjoys doing that.

Part of me wants to watch Sean Hannity tonight to see who he throws under the bus. I am sure he and Trump have already talked today to hatch a plan and a scapegoat(s). We can expect the names Hillary, Obama and Comey to come-up. The term “Deep State” will certainly be tossed around. Hannity and the other Fox News goons will continue to call for a complete cleansing of the Department of Justice as well. In the meantime Trumps picks for Secretary of State and the VA are both stalled not because of the Democrats but the Republicans who see both nominees for what they are, very poor selections. The guy just can’t get “the best people” because “the best people” simply don’t want to work with or for one of the worst. The circus continues.

“I liken President Trump in the book to a forest fire. Going to do tremendous damage. Going to damage those important norms. But a forest fire gives healthy things a chance to grow that had no chance before that fire.” – James Comey

    Your question about the “toilet bowl?” For those of us who see him for what he is … absolutely nothing. For those who think he showers with Mr. Clean? Absolutely nothing. I hope you get my drift.
