It is easy to forget sometimes the beauty humans are capable of creating. Clair De Lune, both the poem and the music are, for me, two examples of the artistry that is contained within each of us. The key is to unlock what so many of us keep buried deep inside because of all the pain and suffering we are experiencing or see. We live life as if we have a tiger by the tail worried that if our grip slips or if we turn lose it will turn around and devour us. Worst, too many of us believe that everyone is rooting for the tiger to win.
Beauty is created first and foremost through love, namely love for ourselves. We can’t change what people think of us. We can’t change how people react to us or what we believe. The beauty of our existence, the beauty contained within each of us is that we are who we are and that should be good enough for you and for me to allow the beauty inside of us to shine through.
Clair De Lune by Paul Verlaine
Your soul is as a moonlit landscape fair,
Peopled with maskers delicate and dim,
That play on lutes and dance and have an air
Of being sad in their fantastic trim.
The while they celebrate in minor strain
Triumphant love, effective enterprise,
They have an air of knowing all is vain,—
And through the quiet moonlight their songs rise,
The melancholy moonlight, sweet and lone,
That makes to dream the birds upon the tree,
And in their polished basins of white stone
The fountains tall to sob with ecstasy.
Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy
Thanks, I have always loved this. The masters gave us some beautiful music.

One of my all time favorite piano compositions. Just breathtaking; moves me to tears every time. Thank you for this reminder of mankind at its best, when lately about all we see is its worst.

Lara’s theme from Dr Zhivago…quite a mix, huh? I took lessons for 13 years and can not read a single note of music either.
