What will Trump’s legacy be?

trump tombstone

I grew up in a neighborhood that a had youth sports league. There was a massive city park three blocks from my house with football and baseball fields we used in the Spring, Summer and Fall and we played basketball in the elementary school gym next door. As you can imagine these activities kept my family, and the neighborhood very busy most Saturday’s throughout the year.

When I was in my early teens a prominent neighborhood families son was killed in a car accident. This family was a big supporter of our youth league and my Dad decided to honor them by raising money to build a small baseball stadium and name it after their son.

As part of the construction, a place for a time capsule was created next to the flagpole base. Items that represented the sports league; a football jersey, programs, balls and things that provided details about what was going on in the world in the 1970’s; newspapers, magazines were placed in the time capsule and sealed with concrete and a metal plaque.

After reading the article, The Trump Administration’s Legacy of Orphans, in The Washington Post I thought about Trump’s own trash capsule and what it would be filled with, metaphorically and figuratively speaking, to mark his short time as President. Here are a few things, thoughts, actions that I believe will be in Trump’s trash capsule and what he will be remembered for;

  1. The inability to tell the truth
  2. Russia, being Vladimir Putin’s bitch
  3. 528 orphaned Latin American children
  4. 3,000 deaths in Puerto Rico
  5. A total disregard for the environment
  6. Corruption
  7. Racism
  8. Division
  9. Immorality
  10. Religious bigotry

These were just a few of the countless things that I think Trump will be remembered for that came to my mind. What would you add to Trump’s trash capsule?

Very appropriate. Nice summary. But you left out a few. Sexism, Narcissism, Xenophobia, Bigotry, Homophobia, Greed, Crookedness and I am sure a few others that I have missed.

You hit the nails on the head
And from Quora is a post that could be the trash capsule of the trump cult republicans:

A huge portion of America is terrifyingly indoctrinated and yet they think they are the moral, just, intelligent, free, aware ones. These are the people who…

    * Support the troops but not care for the disabled veterans
    * Restrict abortion AND cut childcare programs
    * Plead for religious freedom, then impose hardline Christianity on everyone
    * Say they love freedom, but want to expand state security
    * Control most legislatures and governorships, yet profess oppression
    * Spread lies, but cry fake news when hit back with truth
    * Say peaceful protests, but defend killer Nazis, and curse kneeling athletes.
    * Claim to be patriotic, but feel no social or political responsibility.
    * Insist regression is the way forward.
    * Think we’ll be great again by unsolving our problems of the past.
    * Want to protect American lives… by sacrificing them in wars.
    * Complain about taxes AND government debt, but never want to fix it.
    * Call climate change a myth and then complain about record breaking heat.
    * Cut education and then complain that we’re dumb, so cut more education.
    * Shriek about socialism, but demand the government guard their welfare.
    * Detest abortion and contraception, until they need them.
    * Preach fidelity and abstinence, while committing adultery.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Republicans.

Thanks but I didn’t write this. I don’t know who did but I pulled it off Quora…a website I follow. It said it so well, so I posted it.

  6. The Access Hollywood tape, and a recording of Sean Spicer’s press conference the day after the inauguration. His angry refusal to accept the inauguration attendance estimates signaled that this whole administration would be a spectacular failure.
