You won’t see this on Fox News

Just as a reminder:

Feb. 7 (tweet): “…… as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Feb. 10: “I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.”

Feb. 14: “We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape.”

Feb. 19: “I think it’s going to work out fine. I think when we get into April, in the warmer weather, that has a very negative effect on that and that type of a virus. So let’s see what happens, but I think it’s going to work out fine.”

Feb. 24 (tweet): “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. … Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

Feb. 25: “You may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re all getting better. … As far as what we’re doing with the new virus, I think that we’re doing a great job.”

Feb. 26: “Because of all we’ve done, the risk to the American people remains very low. … When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”

Feb. 28: “I think it’s really going well. … We’re prepared for the worst, but we think we’re going to be very fortunate.”

Feb. 28: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Feb. 28: “This is their new hoax.”

March 4: “Some people will have this at a very light level and won’t even go to a doctor or hospital, and they’ll get better. There are many people like that.”

March 9 (tweet): “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

March 10: “And it hit the world. And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”

March 11: “I think we’re going to get through it very well.”

March 12: “It’s going to go away. … The United States, because of what I did and what the administration did with China, we have 32 deaths at this point … when you look at the kind of numbers that you’re seeing coming out of other countries, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it.”

March 15: “This is a very contagious virus. It’s incredible. But it’s something that we have tremendous control over.”

March 16: “If you’re talking about the virus, no, that’s not under control for any place in the world.”

March 17: “I’ve always known this is a, this is a real, this is a pandemic … I’ve felt that it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”

March 18 (tweet): “I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the “borders” from China – against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!”

Don’t you feel safer?!

    • He’ll say every comment that makes him look like the ass he is is “fake” even though HE said it. AND, his followers will believe him. He is a leader of a destructive, rage-filled, cult filled with idiots and knuckle-dragging nobs, to use Ark’s word.

  5. This man’s stupidity and arrogance are only matched by the arrogance and stupidity of those who cling to his every word as if he can do and say nothing wrong. The cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias involved with his minions is more shocking to me than the intellectual offensiveness of the man himself. It is truly embarrassing, not to mention dangerous, to have such a childish jackass running the country. Shame on our country for voting this creature into this office.

Reading some of his latest comments about the virus and how he plans to handle it (?) should show anyone with half-a-brain that he hasn’t a clue. If this doesn’t prove to even the most ardent supporter that he’s totally out of his territory, I don’t know what will.

    • As Rick WIlson notes, Trump is a loser. He has always been a loser. All of his “business success” was just smoke and mirrors and spray tans. He got to where he is today because he is a cheat, a liar, and a scam artist and what is kicking his ass is something that doesn’t read his tweets, watch Fox News, doesn’t care how his Deplorable base will vote, doesn’t get its feelings hurt when called juvenile nicknames and is smarter (the virus) than he is. But MAGA doesn’t care. They will support him with their last dying breath because otherwise they will have to admit that they FUCKED UP!

Hello Ends and Beginnings. It is interesting that even taken alone none of these make much sense, even worse when you string them together. The thing that really adds to the impact is this is the president of the United States. A person with the best intelligence, the best medical understanding / advice, has the best civil engineers for planning, all available to him and yet sounds like an addled school drop out. He sounds like someone unable to reason things through and simply repeats what he last heard. Oh wait that is exactly what he is.

This week I had a person arguing that the US needed to take China to the world court and enact other anti-China measures as the virus was a created bioweapon. I realized later that day everything he was was writing to me was what had been on State Propaganda TV opinion shows earlier that morning and repeated by TV Christian preachers . Even worse was the fact that the president seems to be implying the same thing by misnaming the virus and instead calling it the China virus implying that China is to blame for not only the virus but the spread of it world wide. This is a dangerous race / ethnic hate baiting by the person who normally would be the central voice speaking for the US, the leader of the nation. What a leader to hitch your wagon too, to follow unthinkingly. Hugs

Seeing his remarks all in one place, from a period of time, the change in tone … it is positively maniacal! Who in their right mind can possibly have any faith in a single word the ‘man’ utters??? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Thanks for putting it all in perspective! Mind if I re-blog later today?

We all remember back when Trump said the coronavirus was naught more than a ‘cold’, and when he claimed it was a democratic ‘hoax’ perpetrated with the intent of bringing him down. Seeing his progression of comments, though, all in one place over the course of about a month-and-a-half, shows that without a doubt he is … at best, a moron, at worst, an evil megalomaniac. This post by endsandbeginnings, gives rise to the question: Is he insane or evil? I think a little of both.

Good post. A former head of the Global Pandemic team under Clinton and Bush noted we are doing better, but we are a month to a month and a half behind on planning for the inevitable pandemic in the US. One key is the abolishment of the Global Pandemic team in 2018. The other is the naysaying by the president, as you summarize.

Tonight, conservative pundit said the president has finally gotten serious, but his neurosis and narcissism get in the way. He took personally an innocent question and blew up at a reporter. He continues to provide faulty information and gets too often corrected. He needs to let people in the know do the talking. He is at least doing better, but needs to stop rewriting history and giving out bad info. Keith

I appreciated seeing all of these remarks in one place. I have made a lot of blogging friends who are in the United States who I am having a hard time really explaining this to. They’re all ‘this is so sudden, how did this happen?’ and I truly think it’s Trumps misinformation that’s leading the charge.

For reference, I am Canadian. We’ve been being informed of Corona Virus in Canadian media since New Years Day. On January 17 I went to the hospital with a throat infection/sinus infection/ear infection combo. On January 17 there were already precautions put in place in my local hospital to have me quarantined from others and tested for the virus. That was two months ago. TWO MONTHS. I just think that, in itself is a glaring example of how much the current administration is failing the American public.

Jesus! Ihave no words that would be permissible here. No words. I can’t even look at his face or listen to him ramble through his incoherent sentences. If this weren’t so grave there could be a parlor game about how many times he can use the same word in a sentence without ever completing a thought. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
