Life after Trump

When we wake-up on Thursday, January 21st we will have a new President. The reign of Trump the clown prince will have ended the day before but the reign of Trump the liar, the schemer, the conman, the white martyr, and the noise maker will probably continue until his orange spray tan turns to ash. Even though we have less than thirty days to go, the reality is that we must still deal with an unstable, sociopath until January 20th who can wreak havoc on our country and our future. But given all that, I have been thinking about life after Trump.

What will be most interesting to me after Trump is how long will the Lindsey Graham’s, Jim Jordan’s, Ron Johnson’s, and Devin Nunes’ of the political world continue to kiss his pale, white, wide ass. If what is going on now with Trump’s attempt to overthrow the government with the love, and support of these knuckleheads is any indication they will probably kiss his ass for a little while longer. But with any “relationship” that Trump is in it always comes back to one important question, what have done for him lately and at some point, probably sooner than later, Lindsey, Jim, Ron, and Devin will have nothing left to give him that he can’t get from a $20.00 hooker in Palm Beach Lakes.

So what can these boys give their daddy? Let’s use Ms. Graham as example since she is so near and dear to my heart. About three years ago Trump and Ms. Graham played golf together. Up until that point Ms. Lindsey wasn’t on the “Trump Train” as MAGA likes to call their bandwagon. In fact, Ms. Graham was a vocal critic of Trump. But something happened that day on the fairway. No one knows for sure though there has been an awful lot of speculation of what Trump or maybe Putin had on Lady G. Nevertheless, from that day forward Ms. Graham became one of Trump’s most powerful defenders and vocal critic of the “liberal left’s” witch-hunt against him.

Living in South Carolina as I do and given Ms. Graham’s recent reelection, I understand why she would feel it necessary to align herself with Trump and his base. Other than those counties with black majorities, Trump carried all the other counties with 60 to 70% of the vote and the state with 55% of the vote. But if we look into the crystal ball, will the pictures that Trump has of Ms. Lindsey and a goat still make him toe the line for Trump and I guess the bigger question, what would Trump be advocating her to support for him?

I can’t imagine Trump sitting down in Mar-a-Lago still promoting his wall, or his nonexistent healthcare plan. Certainly, he will still be saying and tweeting that the election was stolen from him for the rest of his life. Maybe that is what Ms. Graham will back him up on. Certainly, MAGA will never let it go Trump will make sure of that. Thankfully 60% of MAGA will be dead in four to six years from smoking to many Marlboro’s and drinking cases of Milwaukee’s Best Ice.

As an aside the following groups have requested permits to assemble in Washington during the inauguration, a 300-person protest by organizers of Roar for Trump and the group Women for a Great America are requesting access to the White House sidewalk and Lafayette Park for a 250-person event, where they plan to “pray for President Trump.” If I were a betting man, I would bet that their idol, the myth, the legend himself, Donald J. Trump, will not be attending the inauguration. That would be my guess. I suspect he will head to Florida for the holidays here in the next few days and stay there. Thanks Florida, you can keep his sorry ass down their forever. Maybe you can secede from the union and name him King!

So back to America after Trump, no he will not “go gentle into that good night” but we already knew that. Trump is the seven-year-old, jacked-up on Adderall and Mountain Dew, who screams for his Dad “to watch me” at Chuck E. Cheese while all the other parents thank God he isn’t their child. If we have learned anything in these four long years about The Don it is that he is addicted to attention and adoration and he can’t survive without it. It is the oxygen that he breathes, and he is unwilling to share it with anyone else, and he will be even more unwilling to let America forget about him.

But I will forget about him because as Ex-Clown in Chief he is toothless just like the vast majority of his cult. Sure, he will still tweet 50 times a day, he will still hold his Klan rallies, he will still jump-up and down and scream look at me, look at me on Fox & Friends but we don’t have to care anymore. I don’t put much hope in him going to jail, I hope I am wrong, but I do think over the course of the next few years his wallet will be several millions of dollars lighter, his real estate empire will have a lot more vacancies, and he will burn through a couple of hundred of attorneys trying to stay out of prison.

The other thing I can’t wait for after Trump are the stories, the documents, the articles, the books that will surface. What we have seen to date, and there have already been a lot of books, is just the tip of the iceberg. Remember, there are hundreds of low-level White House staffers that have a Trump story to tell. A treasure trove of information will begin spilling out not only about Trump but about the Trump family, Pence, Stephen Miller, and all the other buffoons, past and present, in the Trump orbit. It will all be “Fake News”, but it will also keep Trump in the headlines just a little bit longer and give him a reason to touch-up his spray tan for a television appearance.

I have spent a lot of braincells over the last four years writing articles for this blog about Trump. To many to count. As I have stated before, I write for my own mental health, to get my thoughts, emotions and yes, my anger out in the open. That I have a small audience that reads and comments on my thoughts is a bonus for me. Maybe there will still be a reason to write about Trump from time to time, but I doubt I will need to say something every week or even every month. I hope not.

Trump was not a part of my life before he became the Clown King, and I can’t think of a reason to give him any space in my life when he leaves. Sure, there might be a book or two worth reading but honestly, I even doubt that. I lived through the failed Trump experiment. I don’t need to relive it or be reminded of it. My hope is to never have to write about him again except maybe once more, to add my comments and thoughts to his obituary.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,

Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

  1. NOoooooo, you cannot send him to Florida……however; Mara’s lagoon would be an excellent penal colony for the entire family.

Ahhh yes! That would truly be the ultimate glory! King Trump! King Trump! Even if it’s just a small piece of the pie (Florida), the die would be cast and the cry would be Onward! Onward and Upward! (Literally.)

You think I’m joshing? HA! I bet you thought you were joshing!

    Never say never.

There have been a lot of books about his term so far in office. I’m looking forward to the one that documents the last year. The meltdown must be spectacular.
