Facebook Silence

“Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before. The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.” – The Former Guy’s statement after his Facebook ban was upheld (5-5-21).

Where to start? How about here, “Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States”. I hate to bust the orange buffoons bubble, but he isn’t the President of the United States anymore. Now I realize in his demented, pea brain he might believe he still is because the election was “stolen from him”, but he knows the truth and the only reason he continues to perpetuate the “Big Lie” is because he is making money off of it.

And how about this one, “the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth”. Seriously, “the truth”? The Former Guy and his gang of inbreed dimwits have been unable to recognize let alone utter the truth their entire lives. As I have written before I spend little to no time following politics today because the man occupying the White House is a man of honor, hope, compassion and most importantly a man that speaks the truth.

“The People of our Country will not stand for it” really? I am a people of this Country and I couldn’t be more excited, and I am not even on Facebook. I think The Former Guy and the GOP are way over their skis on this one. They do not have the support of the “People of our Country” that they think or wish they had. Sure, maybe in Texas, or Florida, or any other red state where first cousins regularly marry each other but apparently they have forgotten this important point, The Former Guy got beat, he was a one term, twice impeached loser and the GOP lost the House, twice, and the Senate while he was watching television, playing golf and letting 500,000 Americans die from COVID.

“These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.” There is probably some subliminal, QAnon messaging in this sentence but how funny is it that the toothless king wants to exact some political price on Twitter and Facebook just because they won’t let him do what he wants to do? He started a riot. He endangered the lives of people including his Vice President. He attempted to overturn a free and fair national election by using the “corrupt social media companies”.

If 50% of the GOP had the balls of Liz Cheney, The Former Guy would be in prison for attempting to overthrow the government. He would be in prison for being a Russian asset. He would be in prison for profiting from his thankfully short time in office. Instead, 95% of the GOP still believe he is the rightful owner of the presidency and honestly, I hope they keep on believing it. While Kevin McCarthy, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham are giving The Former Guy a hand job down in Mar-a-Lago the rest of us are moving forward. Businesses are reopening, the economy is perking up, and there seems to be an overall sense of hopefulness that the train is back on the track.

As I have written before The Former Guy has spent his entire life living the words of W. C. Fields; “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.” He did not have a plan coming into the office other than to eliminate any and everything that Obama’s name was attached to it and he left just like he started, trying to sell a lie. I am glad he is gone. At this point he is just a bigger clown than he was before put on this earth to entertain most of us and deceive the rest.

“It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.” – James Baldwin

We certainly have ignorance in abundance. Ignorance to the point that grown men and women don’t know the difference between being led and being dragged. But I’m sure ignorance among the Republican electorate is not the only reason they are in office. “They” being what passes for leadership in the GOP legislatures. Those who have and who seek power for the sake of power. They have no desire to use their office in service to the nation. They do not have the creative power or personal principles to offer any policy initiatives. They are nothing more than sycophants. They are scared little people whom Donald Trump will never show them an iota of respect or thanks for their efforts.

“Calumny, sir. You don’t realize it’s effectiveness. I’v seen the best of men pretty near overwhelmed by it. Believe me there’s no spiteful stupidity, no horror, no absurd story that one can’t get the idle-minded folk of a great city to swallow if one goes the right way about it — and we have some experts here.”
    Beaumarchais, The Barber of Seville

Every Republican of any party stature who has spoken out against Trump has been publicly castigated. Truth, self-respect, and the art of critical thought will not be tolerated by the party of Trump. Those of low character, or no character, are attacking people whose character will not allow them to stoop to that level of cowardice.

btw, these clowns who cry out free speech while they try to shut every mouth that speaks truth and fact are really laughable.

If they are worried about damaging speech, they should muzzle Cancun Cruz who had the audacity to threaten corporations with the notion that only the GOP has the right to sell access to the government. Or maybe Moscow Mitch who said not only would there would be no GOP votes on legislation, but he is determined to stop the Biden administration. Period. There will be no pretense at unity, whatever that is supposed to mean today.

  3. I couldn’t agree more. The President-Eject’s free speech is still intact; the government has not hauled him away for spewing nonsense. These twits all seem to think that free speech means a guaranteed audience on any and all platforms.

I soooo love the way you put things!

Time and again I ask myself, where did we go wrong? It was bad enough that he was (barely) given the POTUS title, but now that he’s been removed, why are we still suffering? Why is this self-absorbed, tantrum-stomping child allowed to continue? The retribution for his many, many illegal and felonious actions is taking far too long!

With the phrase “Free Speech has been taken away”, The Fetid Prince of Mar-a-Lago would like to convince his cult that Facebook, Twitter, etc. are violating his First Amendment rights. This is utter nonsense, of course. The First Amendment applies to the Government; not private companies. They have every right to ban any user ,,, especially those who violate their restrictions. (It would be nice if their restrictions were more clearly defined, but that’s a different problem.)

The “Big Lie” has made me think of an interesting question: If you really believe what you say, is it a lie? Clearly, (most of) the GOP’s Congressional sycophants know the “Big Lie” isn’t true and are lying by supporting it. The Orangeman himself might be different. He’s been showing signs of dementia for years. Don’t forget, he thinks that remembering 5 words (Person, Women, Man, Camera, TV) is a remarkable feat of memory and intelligence … and that “covfefe” is a word in some human language.
