100% of 63%

“One-hundred percent of our focus is on stopping this new administration.” – Senate Minority Leader Mitch “The Turtle” McConnell

Think about this statement for a minute. There is nothing specific in it. Not stop Biden’s COVID-19 response. Not stop an economic recovery plan, or health care reform or a clean energy strategy. No, The Turtle wants to stop any and all agenda’s President Biden plans to put on the table. Period, without offering any alternatives.

Now incase you missed it the key word here is “plans” because over the last four years The Former Guy, The Turtle, Ms. Lindsey Graham, and Kevin “My Prison Bitch” McCarthy didn’t have a plan. They didn’t have a plan for COVID-19, the economy, healthcare or the future sustainability of this planet. They talked a lot, cut a lot, spent a lot of time on Fox & Friends bitching and moaning about “socialist agendas”, but in four years they didn’t move the needle forward one inch for the vast majority of American’s and guess what our friends and neighbors recognize that today.

According to a new poll (Associated Press-NORC), President Biden has an overall 63 percent job approval rating. The poll found that 96 percent of Democrats, 62 percent of independents and 23 percent of Republicans surveyed approve of Biden’s work in his first three months in office. For context, once, just once, The Former Guy got a bigly 49 percent approval rating. His overall average for four years was 41 percent, the lowest of any other president. When The Former Guy left Washington with his tail between his leg as a one term, twice impeached loser he had a 34 percent approval rating. Honestly, the best thing that could happen to this country is for the Republican party to keep all their hopes and dreams hitched to this “star”.

The Repugnants have already telegraphed how they expect to win in the future, they are going to make it damn near impossible for black, brown and poor people to vote, basically Jim Crow 2.0. And as you would expect blood red states like Georgia, Florida and Texas are leading the charge.

In March, Georgia Governor Brian “May I have Another One Sir” Kemp signed a bill making these oh subtle changes to Georgia’s voting laws:

Ballots must be printed in black and white ink on security paper.

The cutoff date is now 11 days before a primary, general election or runoff election for mail-in ballot applications.

A deadline for the issuance of absentee ballots is now at least 25 days before a federal primary, general election or special election or 22 days before a municipal general election or primary.

A Georgia state driver’s license number, ID card number, date of birth and the last four digits of a social security number or another approved form of identification must be printed on the outside of an absentee ballot.

And the catchall, conditions for rejecting absentee ballots if “certain” (read whatever floats their boat) requirements are not met.

Who will these laws hurt? Working people. People whose employers won’t give them time off to go vote. People who have transportation issues. Poor people, black people and brown people, people who historically vote as Democrats. These laws were needed, according to the white, Republican politicians, to restore voter confidence in a state that counted and recounted the Presidential votes four times, The Former Guy lost all four times and a state where the only instance of voter fraud was on the Republican side.

As The Turtle said, one-hundred percent of his focus is on stopping anything this new administration tries to accomplish for the American people. And how will they take back the Senate, the House, and the Presidency? Making it damn near impossible for a large and growing segment of our population to vote.
