Cheerleader Camp

Trump West Virginia

Donald Trump at Cheerleader Camp last night in Huntington, W.Va.

Yesterday in my post Playing to his base I wrote “If you are so inclined to watch his rally in Huntington tonight you won’t see any diversity. The crowd will be white, mostly middle age to older, working to middle class and Protestant.” In the immortal words of Bill Engvall “Here’s Your Sign”

So what did the Trumpets learn last night that they didn’t already know? Nothing.

The Russian investigation is “fake” and is both a Democratic excuse for the election loss and a distraction from the more serious crimes of Hillary Clinton. “Lock her up!”

“The reason why Democrats only talk about the totally made-up Russia story is because they have no message, no agenda and no vision. They don’t talk about the all-time-high stock market, they don’t talk about reforms to the VA, or about manufacturing jobs we’re bringing back to America by the hundreds of thousands, they don’t talk about the Keystone pipeline that I immediately approved.”

“It just makes them feel better when they have nothing else to talk about. What the prosecutors should be looking at are Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 deleted emails. And they should be looking at the paid Russian speeches. And the owned Russian companies. Or let them look at the uranium she sold that is now in the hands of very angry Russians. Most people know there were no Russians in our campaign, there never were.”

Let’s be very clear these cheerleading events have two purposes, sell more red baseball caps and feed Donald Trumps very fragile ego. In seven months Trump has had one victory, he won the election and these monthly rallies, in front of very friendly crowds, allow him to bask in the warm glow of that singular achievement.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Trump only makes appearances in areas that are “friendly” or at resort properties that he owns? He has yet to tour areas of this country that have suffered natural disasters like tornadoes, floods, or wildfires. Why is that? Because he doesn’t have a message beyond the bullshit he continues to spew at these monthly pep rallies.

Trump and his Trumpets are convinced that his mere presences in the White House is enough to solve all of our problems and by god everything good that has happened since November is directly correlated to the greatest political win the world as ever seen. Hell just this morning he has taken credit for; “Excellent Jobs Numbers just released – and I have only just begun. Many job stifling regulations continue to fall. Movement back to USA!”, “Consumer confidence is at a 16 year high….and for good reason. Much more regulation “busting” to come. Working hard on tax cuts & reform!” and “Toyota & Mazda to build a new $1.6B plant here in the U.S.A. and create 4K new American jobs. A great investment in American manufacturing!”

In the meantime the “totally made-up Russia story” is heating up and still our President hasn’t uttered one disparaging word about what everyone else seems to know, Russia isn’t our friend. Senator John McCain explained it best when he responded to “our” Presidents lovey-dovey tweet about Russia; “Our relationship w/ Russia is at dangerous low. You can thank Putin for attacking our democracy, invading neighbors & threatening our allies”- Sen. John McCain

Trump is headed on a 17 day vacation at his golf resort in New Jersey. This from the man who criticized President Obama in 2011 with “@BarackObama played golf yesterday. Now he heads to a 10 day vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. Nice work ethic”. Do you know who won’t be taking a vacation? Russia special counsel Robert Mueller and his team of attorneys who continue to dig deep. Keep digging and then the rest of us can have our own slogan “Lock HIM up!”

  4. Evangelical Republicans understand Trump’s insatiable need for adulation (and give it to him at his sick rallies) because that is what their other pathetic God incessantly demands. They understand the protocol. Have no problem with it. Brains such as theirs were molded through child abuse and can never, ever, be remolded.
